Who can compete?
Anyone can compete as long as you or your partner is a college student in a degree-granting program.
How much experience do I need to compete?
NONE! With basic knowledge of the steps in the most common dances, you can find success in a competition. Why? Because you ALWAYS compete against people at the same level of dancing as yourself, i.e. Newcomers.
Do I need a partner to compete?
You will need a partner to dance with for competition. However, he or she does not need to be your permanent partner and you may have multiple partners for different dances. If you have trouble finding a partner to compete with, our team members (especially the board members) will help you find one. So please ask any of us to help you out!
What level do I compete?
If you have never competed, you will dance at the Newcomer level. We do, however, encourage our newbies to compete at both the Newcomer and Bronze levels. This is to help newcomers gain more experience. You will be surprised at the success of our newcomers dancing in Bronze.

What do I wear to a competition?
The team generally hosts a competition dress-code and make-up session before big competitions, which everyone is welcome to attend to learn more about what the appropriate look should be. The links below are short descriptions and pictures of how one should dress for a competition. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact the Away-Competition Chair or any other board members for help.

Where do we stay at a competition?
For 2-day competitions such as the Ohio Star Ball and the Arnold Classic, the team usually stays at a nearby hotel. For inter-collegiate competitions, the host team usually provides crash space for our members.
How do I get to a competition?
We car pool. The Away-Competition Chair will organize a list of drivers and people who need rides to drive down the competition together. Gas money is shared between members in the car.
